Orexin B, or Hypocretin-2, is a neuropeptide derived from the hypothalamus, composed of 28 amino acids (C123H212N44O35S). Despite its lower blood-brain barrier penetration compared to Orexin A, Orexin B interacts primarily with the OX2R receptor, regulating sleep/wake cycles, metabolism, and other physiological processes. Its deficiency is often linked to conditions like narcolepsy.
